Introduction: A higher education institution wanted its faculty to create instructional videos using Panopto.
Challenge: Two challenges were faced in this project:
- Training faculty on how to create effective instructional videos.
- Training faculty on how to create videos using Panopto.
Solution: The first step was to create training for faculty on how to create effective instructional videos. A sample of this training prototype is provided here: Creating Instructional Videos
The second step was to hold face-to-face sessions to train faculty (who were not very tech savvy) on how to use Panopto in their classroom while they were lecturing and with the aid of their smart phones.
Faculty utilize this training before formally creating their video materials.
A video evaluation rubric was also created and provided to the faculty to ensure video production quality.
